I have a soft spot for discarded doilies and bits of crochet lace that are being thrown out. It seems like a lost art, but aren’t they so beautiful? I always think of the original makers and all the time and patience and skill that went into creating them. Bringing these abandoned pieces of history into my ceramic art feels like giving them a second life. This particular pattern is the classic pineapple stitch, I believe, and I have used a different doily with the same pattern before to create a
