Often confused for mice, moles or shrews, voles are small rodents that are commonly found at CNC. While most similar to mice, voles have stouter bodies, shorter tails and rounder faces. Voles are surface burrowers and tunnel under loose soil and leaf litter in search of roots, leaves and seeds to eat.
