A few thousand customers were without power on Sunday amid a winter storm. Utility companies say they have crews at the ready to restore weather-related outages. Here's a look at the latest numbers.
SAN ANTONIO – Thousands of CPS Energy customers are without power in the San Antonio area on Sunday morning. As of 5:30 a.m., 39 outages are affectingmore than 10,000 customers. In a post on X, CPS Energy wrote that crews worked overnight to respond to the outages.
Another round of freezing temperatures is forecast for Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Power outages have affected thousands of residents across the region. SWEPCO officials said it has hit all three states they serve: Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. As of Saturday evening, 24,000 customers are without power.
As of 2:45 pm EDT, 1,060,550 customers were without power nationwide. Tennessee was the hardest hit, with about 337,000 customers in the dark by midday Sunday.
After snowy and icy roads took over North Texas on Saturday, the region is heading into a snowier Sunday with showers starting in the morning. Temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach a high near 21 degrees with wind chill values between minus 4 and 6 degrees,
