If this ends up resonating with viewers and fans, perhaps we could even see a full return of The Muppet Show, or perhaps more specials at least. The truth is, most fans just want to see their favorites on screen and doing what they do best, which is entertaining, and The Muppet Show looks primed to make that into a reality once more.

Looking back 50 years later, The Muppet Show feels like something that shouldn’t have worked—and somehow worked perfectly. A felt frog hosting a weekly variety show? A backstage held together by chaos, vaudeville rhythms and groan-worthy puns?

The Muppet Show special trailer hints at a possible full return, and we have ideas about which recurring sketches should be revisited… and which shouldn’t.
