Aloka the peace dog, the social media star who has become the mascot of the cross-country Walk for Peace, is recovering well after having surgery on his leg in South Carolina.

Aloka the "Peace Dog" is recovering from successful surgery to repair ligament damage in his right rear leg.

Monks from Fort Worth, Texas, began a 2,300-mile walk in October that aims to promote peace.
